Pre-Waxing Care:
If shaving or tweezing the desired area to be waxed, please discontinue and allow 7-14 days prior to service depending on how quickly your hair grows.
Hairs to be waxed must be at least 1/4" long and no longer than 3/4" (Trimming may be necessary prior to scheduling your appointment to avoid increase in service price)
It is helpful in the aid of removing unwanted hairs to use an exfoliating mitt for a few days prior to service. Avoid overly abrasive materials that may irritate the treatment area.
Avoid exposure to the sun/tanning beds for 24 hours prior to service.
- For female clients, it is best to schedule appointments 4-7 days prior as well as after your cycle to avoid hyper-sensitivity.
- On the day of your appointment, drink plenty of water and avoid caffeinated and alcoholic beverages. These things can contribute to sensitivity and redness due to the stimulation of the nervous system.
Post-Waxing Care:
Avoid for a period of 24-48 hours
Sun/tanning beds
Chlorinated water, extreme hot water, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs,etc.
Deodorants, scented body sprays, lotions, perfume, etc.
Exfoliating and stimulating body or facial treatments.
Tight clothing(i.e. pantyhose, spandex, etc.)
Any exercise that causes friction in the area waxed.
Touching or scratching the area.
*Apply sun screen to any area exposed to the sun to prevent pigmentation damage.
**To help prevent ingrown hairs, begin exfoliating the area a few days after service.
-Note: If you are new to waxing services and have a special occasion coming up, I recommend scheduling your first appointment a month prior, no matter how many precautions are taken sometimes you just can't predict how your skin will react to the trama.
